Room 6 wonders if there was a special pancake day that we missed? Room 9 also had a pancake day! We like pancakes.
ReplyDeletePancake day is the first day of lent. So if you are catholic you normally give up something that you love during lent. Traditionally people would use what was in their pantry to get rid of what they were going to give up (normally sugar). So that is how pancake day came about! It is a big thing to do in schools in the UK so that is probably why both Room 7 and 9 made pancakes- also it was a great excuse to eat!!
